What is this exactly?
Well, simply put, it's just a novelty. In the same way that you might go buy a "San Francisco" shirt on a visit to the City by the Bay, a TurfCode shirt is even that much more specific to a location!
Do I have to use my zip code?
Not at all! Although you do need to choose 5 digits, you can choose any combination of numbers you wish.
Do you have other apparel or colors?
Currently, we're just making standard black tshirts, but eventually if we get a decent response we can add all sorts of items. Please let us know about any special requests you may have. If you are looking for bulk orders, please contact us.
Custom design? Aren't I just selecting an image of a zip code?
Actually, we're taking individual images of digits, combining them in real-time (based on your requested digits) and rendering them into a single image, and then serving that image to you. Did you know there are over 43,000 ZIP codes in the United States? Since we have no idea which zip codes will be requested, we would need to make them all. In addition, since we wanted to offer you multiple font choices (8 currently) we would also need to make a full set of ZIP codes using each font (43,000 x 8 = 344,00 images!). At approximately 1 minute to create each ZIP code image by hand working 10 hour days, we'd be making images for 1 year and 7 months! [thank goodness we're making them dynamically instead!]
